Martial God Asura (Web Novel)

This is one of the first novels I have read alongside ATG and ISSTH. When I started this novel it had around 4k chapters. This novel has a lot of issues namely repetitiveness but the story/foreshadowing/lore is interesting. The weapon system is interesting and the world-building improves a lot(especially after 3k chapters) I have rated this as 3 stars because I still read this novel and want to see it through to the end. if there was an option to make it 3. 5 stars I would. But even at 5k chapters. . . there are a lot of things yet to be revealed. All I will say is if you want to read a linear story with a lot of fights, and face slappings (a lot) this is the novel for you. Some moments make you laugh. The cultivation system is fairly straightforward. This novel has a lot of filler content though. . . remove that and you have got a much better novel because this story has good elements related to MC's family. MC undergoes some character development as the novel goes on and reading this novel makes you root for him as MC is very emotional in this novel. It had enough good parts for me to keep reading it and I have a soft spot for this since it's one of the first novels that I've read. But some parts of this novel can also make you feel like dropping it. I'm too deep in it anyway and will read till it is completed/if the author stops writing it.

unlike most other cultivation novels here the idea of mc having a father who's almost like another mc and finding his father's obscure story in his journey is a great plus. . though the plot is repetitive it is quite a nice read when you need to burn some time. . though introducing girls left and right and making story only to end up as potential love interest leaves a bad taste. .

This one is a good piece of work, it is well written, however, it get's repetitive after around chapter 1200, that is why I did not continue it to the end, I felt like I could start a new journey somewhere and that I have finished this story. and enjoyed it.

It's an old school Cultivation classic and arguably can be considered one of the pillers of the genre, from which hundreds of other web-novels/light-novels were inspired. For many of us more seasoned readers of the genre, it's one of our first cultivation novels, and thus despite it's many negative points, still holds a place in our hearts. The story arcs are repetitive, but in my personal opinion, each repitition has its own unique spin. No two ancestral trial grounds are exactly the same, although their puzzles and challenges are certainly similar enough. It feels like an episodic adventure cartoon from the 90s; the MC is constantly saving damsels, investigating ruins, and encountering new copy-pasta enemies at every corner. Definitely a spaghetti-novel, but who doesnt like spaghetti?

I’m currently slightly over 2300 chapters in, apart from a little slouch around chapter 900 this book provides some excellent storytelling. I’m especially delighted that there are so many cultivation realms, meaning that you don’t have to wait 200 chapters for him to make a single breakthrough. There’s always a next mountain to climb, so to speak. Another positive is the fact that quite a few fighting scenes are very compacted, meaning that if you are aware of the outcome beforehand, there won’t be ten chapters of fighting. Sometimes, if fighting scenes drag on for too long, it’s possible to just skim them. That’s what I did in order to avoid getting frustrated. The overall story is definitely worth it, it’s just that some chapters aren’t.

One of the worst character development IV ever read. Most of the chapters are completely useless. 7 chapters on a useless fight with a useless side character. Everyone around the MC always gets in trouble and just before they get killed the MC arrives to save the day. This happened more than 20 times in 2000 chapters. I wish I could give this a negative star review.

Been reading this sh*t since 2015 and it’s mainly cuz I already invested too much time off my life reading it. Bee is just too unreliable and it’s been dragging this cr*p over the past 3 years for no reason. Chu Feng was a great character that became one of the worst “I have plot amor” MC possible in history of wuxia/xianxia. Let’s not even talk about Xuanyuan 😒 I’m just not giving 1 star cuz of Eggie. Don’t fall for this trap of a book 🤌🏻

I read about 2000ch it was good till 1000 ch but mc is too righteous type and forgiving type and i just doesn’t like those type like man you have gained those why give it to mob if you want then give it to people like brothers or wives but why mob what use does that have and seriously when you have to get many resources for cultivation but here you are donating to mob not only that but that mob also not help you before when you need. Truly too righteous sorry but not my type. Two stars is because author doesn’t drop it

Honestly everyone's opinion varies I mean I pretty much enjoyed. I was really eager to see how he found his mum, dad(who went to some dead planet with strong cultivators) though the repetitive scene is actually frustrating all in all it's good

My earliest cultivation light novel. . if not for this novel I think I might have not started reading light novel. . if someone wants to read a cultivation novel it's not that bad
